Around the same time that Siegel and Schuster invented Superman, a mad genius of comics created Stardust the Super Wizard, first appearing in Fantastic Comics #1 in 1939. While Superman became a cultural phenomenon, Stardust faded away.
But, let me tell you, it shouldn’t have. Stardust is a truly unique bit of superhero comics, macabre and funny and weird and nonsensical and decades ahead of its time. Just see for yourself.
I’ve been obsessed with Stardust since first coming across the character, and it turns out that a lot of my comics friends are, too. So, we decided to come together and make an anthology featuring new takes on Stardust.

This will be an approximately 150-page hardcover book with about 20 stories, featuring some of the biggest creators in the industry: Mike Allred, Pete Woods, Jeff Parker, Tom Fowler, Ron Marz, Francesco Francavilla, Jesse Lonergan, Joe Keatinge, Cecil Castellucci and many, many more.
It also features a story by Ian Hanks, Fletcher Hanks’ grandson, who is an accomplished fine artist and created a touching homage to his grandfather, while also directly addressing Fletcher Hanks’ troubled legacy.
The book is crowdfunded on the Zoop platform (like Kickstarter, except dedicated to comics). We reached our initial funding goal in 12 hours! But we really need more support to make this book succeed.
